I found this link that helps identify wildflowers – just check the boxes with the characteristics and click the button labeled “identify”. I find that picking fewer options gives a better result than picking more, at least to get started. You know… sometimes less is more.
There are links at the top of that page for other doohickeys to identify birds and trees. Much easier than sifting through a book!
I found the link while trying to id this plant, which is a purple trillium. I got the correct result on the first try!
