The lake is finally melting. It wasn’t a bad winter, temperature-wise but there was a ton of snow. This made the ice layers really weird with the multiple thaws throughout the winter. In these pics you can see most of the lake frozen with a few large and small floes by the shore.
The floes are about a foot thick which was hard to show in a picture. To show scale (and strength) I tossed a ball onto the nearest floe to see if Cleo would fetch it. She hates going in the water. Hates it. I was kind of surprised she went after it but she did and pranced around on the floe for awhile.
